| SRI LANKA IMMIGRAION BORDER CONTROL SYSTEM LINKS UP WITH INTERPOL |

In a land mark development taking our border security to new highest, Sri Lanka Immigration has linked online real time with INTERPOL database systems. The new system, launched by the Secretary Defense today (11th June 2012) will enable immigration officers to check all arriving and departing passengers against INTERPOL Stolen and Lost Travel Document Database and details of international criminals with online and real time basis. Information enables immigration officer at an airport or sea port to check instantly whether a travel document is stolen or lost or the person is known international criminal. The project expected to greatly enhance the border security of Sri Lanka.
