|Migrant Accommodating Center|
The Department of Immigration and Emigration has been maintaining its Migrant accommodating center for accommodating foreign nationals who violate visa conditions in Sri Lanka since 1987.
The facility of the Centre was not at all conducive and was at the dilapidated condition.
The centre was renovated by the Department of Immigration and Emigration with all the facilities that meet International standards. The 40 – bed centre will host Irregular Migrants and those have been required to leave Sri Lanka. Migrant Accommodation Centre renovated and equipped under the European Union funded project Support to the Governments of Pakistan & Sri Lanka for the Implementation of Readmission Agreement with the European Union implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM)
