MEDIA RELEASE DEPARTMENT OF IMMIGRATION AND EMIGRATION It is hereby informed that visiting of the general public to the Battaramulla Head office of the Department of Immigration and Emigration will be temporarily suspended with effect from 02.11. 2020 until further notice as a step of prevention of the spread of COVID-19 Virus. The public are kindly requested to contact the relevant Divisions through the following telephone numbers and e-mails from 8.00 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. on working days for the essential services to be obtained from the Head Office of the Department of Immigration and Emigration.
Regional Offices in Kandy, Vavunia, Matara and Kurunegala will be kept open for issuing passports in case of emergencies. Before visiting to the Regional Offices, an appointment should be made through the telephone numbers 0707101060, 0707101070 subject to the health regulations imposed in the country. IMPORTANT :
It is informed that the public in the areas where the quarantine curfew has already been imposed should not visit to the Regional Offices at this instance.
I further inform that providing of all the above services are subject to policy decisions, curfew, health and security decisions taken from time to time in view of the prevailing epidemic and the decisions regarding the provision of such services are subject to the revisions made from time to time.
