How can I renew my tourist visa ?

1. There are four types of tourists visa extensions:
   1. ETA (Visa obtained through Electronic Travel Authorization system before 17/04/2024) (On payment basis)
       
   2. 30 days tourists visa (On payment basis)
       
   3. 30 days free tourist visa for seven nationals (On payment basis)
      (China, India, Russia, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia)
       
   4. 06 months tourist visa (No payment)
       
2. The above tourists visa categories can be extended as follows:
   1. Tourists visa obtained through  ETA can be extended online https://eservices.immigration.gov.lk/vs/login.php  or by visiting head office of Department of Immigration and Emigration, Battaramulla.
       
   2. 30 days tourist visa can be extended 30 more days only and this extension can be obtained on online https://eservices.immigration.gov.lk/vs/login.php  or by visiting head office of Department of Immigration and Emigration, Battaramulla.
       
   3. 30 days free tourist visa for seven nationals (China, India, Russia, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia) can be extended 30 more days only and this extension can be obtained online https://eservices.immigration.gov.lk/vs/login.php  or by visiting Department of Immigration and Emigration head office, Battaramulla.
       
   4. 06 months tourist visa can be extended 60 more days by dedicating  the double entry facility. This extension can be obtained only online by accessing https://eservices.immigration.gov.lk/OnlineVisa/pages/visaextension/visaextension.xhtml

What are the documents I need to extend the visit visa ?

Tourist visa

1. Return air ticket.
2. Address and the telephone number of the place of accommodation.
3. The application along with the photograph of the applicant.
4. Valid Passport.

* It is compulsory for the applicant to be present to apply and to collect the visa. (Those who will submit applications at the Department of Immigration and Emigration Head Office only).

What are the other conditions applicable to renewal of my tourist visa ?

Your intended stay in Sri Lanka should end at least two months before the expiry date of your travel document.
